She has a master’s degree in Mythological Studies from Pacifica Graduate Institute and is the founder and director of Mythic Stories Education. Allison is currently working on her first book, Mythic Creativity: What Myth Can Teach Us About Our Creative Lives and is passionately interested in the intersection between myth, creativity, innovation, and culture.

In this episode, Danielle is joined by mythologist, writer, speaker, retreat and workshop host Allison Stieger. Allison discusses the power of myth and how actively using myth in your personal life journey will change your life. They discuss the difference between a personal story of survival and a personal myth of transformation and the empowerment that comes from shifting your own narrative from one to the other. Allison also shares some specific examples of using existing myths to empower our own lives. Demystifying concepts like descent-state, left-hand path versus right hand path and the relationship between mythology and ritual, this episode will challenge the listener to rise and become the hero in their own journey.
